Frequently Asked Questions

I've never rowed before. How does that work?

Your first two weeks of practice (and much of your first semester) are focused on learning the skills and techniques of rowing, with the constant help of varsity members and coaches.

Will I be able to balance crew and academics?

Yes! First and foremost, you are a student. Time management is very important, and varsity will help you learn how to balance crew and academics. We have students from all different majors become very successful on the team.

What's the time commitment?

For the fall season, novice rowers typically practice two evenings per week along with Saturday morning sessions. During the winter, the entire team trains together, with practices held weekday mornings (Monday through Friday) and Saturdays reserved for independent workouts.

What if I have concerns about team dues?

If you have any questions or concerns about dues, please reach out to us or contact our treasurer at [email protected]. We offer flexible payment plans that allow installments and are happy to work with you to explore additional options as needed.
