The Ergathon is a 24-hour event put on by the Case Crew Team where rowers erg on indoor rowing machines to raise money for the team's spring break training trip, which helps us prepare for a successful race season!
As a university club sport, Case Crew is responsible for the majority of its own fundraising in order to cover the costs of equipment, maintenance, and travel to regattas. These are considerable expenses, and we work year-round to offset these costs. However, we are asking you to participate in another, very important, fundraiser – the Ergathon! The Ergathon is an annual fundraising tradition in which members of the crew team get together to row for 24 hours straight. During this time, groups of rowers will erg continuously in a public space on campus. The proceeds that we gather from this fundraiser will go directly to the payment of our vital spring training trip, which takes place in March in Gainesville, Georgia. Relocating to warmer waters for this week is crucial for developing the fitness and technique that is necessary to succeed in collegiate rowing. |
